Summer Outside but Winter in My Office

A Tale of Two Temperatures – Office Heaters to the Rescue

It happens every year. The seasons change, the hemlines get shorter, the sassy summer sandals are brought out from the back of the closet and the temperature in my office turns to uninhabitable frosty conditions. Sure, it’s hot outside, no one is denying that. But is it honestly necessary to freeze out the delicate flower in marketing or watch the receptionist turn a Smurf-ette shade of blue? What about the frail accountant sitting in the corner office? With gale force winds being blown down his neck he feebly types with stiffened fingers as the air conditioner pumps out heaps and piles of arctic wind. Oh the sad plight of the office worker bee. We sit in the hive wondering how we are supposed to be productive when our sad wings are frozen. Yes, it’s true, this all sounds a bit dramatic, but my memory of the tale of two temperatures and the blanket cold that descended each summer in my own office sits firmly in my memory. If not for my beloved office heater I would be a frozen memory, a business casual Popsicle entombed in the ever frigid winds of my cubicle.

Office panel heater. I’m thinking how true blue I would have been to my boss if he had offered to give me full control of the thermostat for one day. I would regulate my office so the tips of my toes would still have feeling at the end of a work day. Alas, that offer never came my way, nor to any of my office mates. The smart ones gravitated toward survival, as I did and purchased small office heaters to make our days more bearable. An electric panel heater is a reasonable solution to our tale of woe. A Home Heat Center electric panel heater is designed to heat small spaces, take up minimal floor space and maintain safety all at the same time. So although there are two extreme temperatures, hot outside, cold inside, we can still maintain productivity and warmth when we need it. Cubicle dwellers everywhere rejoice!

Safety First Means a Summer Filled With Peace of Mind and Outdoor Heating

Grill masters around the country are dusting off their aprons, shaking bottles of barbeque sauce, and heading back outside to visit the great outdoors. Neighbors are throwing block parties once more and the kids are riding bikes until the sun goes down. It’s summer! Summer nights can still have a nip in the air, but many people enjoy the many benefits of outdoor heating. Patio heaters, outdoor heaters, and fire pits are all great sources of warmth for those nights you want to star gaze with friends and loved ones. As with anything generating heat there is an inherent danger in their use, so heed a few outdoor heating safety tips for the ultimate peace of mind and fun in the summer nights.

  • Place patio heaters and fire pits a safe distance from low-lying tree branches, sheds, fences, wood decks, and other flammable materials.

  • When using a patio heater be sure to tuck the power cord safely out of reach of small children and low to the ground to avoid a tripping hazard.

  • Only use types of outdoor heating for their intended purposes and never use for indoor applications.

  • Forego use of outdoor heating products when weather calls for high winds that could lead to an untimely spread of fire.

  • Never leave your patio heater or fire pit unattended.

Following these simple and straightforward safety tips will ensure you have a long and lasting summer season. Most of it spent in the great outdoors, breathing in that fresh sun kissed air. Happy summer to you all!

Options for Heating Your Home

June 12, 2009 00:06 AM  BY  BENSON RICKS

Heating Isolated Areas of Your Home or Office

One of the great conveniences of living in the modern day is the numerous choices we have when looking to provide heat for our homes. In days gone by people didn’t have many options. Imagine having to get up in the morning and put a log in the fireplace and build a fire. After burning for awhile, maybe it was fairly pleasant – provided you didn't wander too far from the fireplace. But fireplaces didn't do much to heat the rest of the house. Nowadays, however, when it comes to home heating, you can take your pick. Electric heaters come in so many forms that deciding which one is right for you is probably the most difficult heating task.

A common problem is providing that extra little bit of heat for that area where you often sit in your home. Wall-mount heaters are a great answer. Why crank the whole heating system up when you can just provide heat for your favorite nook? Not only can a localized heat source save you money, but quite often this is a more comfortable type of heat as you can snuggle up against it a little.

And these electric heaters aren’t just for the home. Office heaters and patio heaters can do the job for those other spots where you want to be. There are even heating mats for pets. Yes, why should you be all nice and cozy when your good buddy is shivering out in the cold? Our four-legged friends never had it so good. When you plan your next home improvement project, don’t overlook these numerous options that can greatly enhance the comfort of you home.

Climastar Localized Heat

May 15, 2009 00:05 AM  BY  BENSON RICKS

Turning Cold Quarters into Cozy Corners

Yes I know the heat is just around the corner. Summer is almost here and it’s human nature to turn our thoughts away from trying to stay warm in cold weather. While thoughts of heating the house may not occupy your mind during the spring and summer months, now may actually be the best time to look into solving that “cold situation” you endured at your home this winter. You know - that cold corner where you like to sit and read or watch the TV.

Home improvement projects involving the installation of heat sources don’t need to wait untill October. In fact, this is the ideal time as the heater folks aren’t swamped answering the calls of frantic, ice-blooded procrastinators wanting to get their “situations” solved before the weekend football game.

Climastar offers a wide variety of localized heating sources to warm rooms that keep their cool too well. Office heaters can also make a big difference in the office. You may even look forward to going to work. Okay, maybe not but at least you won’t dread it quite so much. A strategically placed wall-mount heater or two can make all the difference in the world, and the initial cost is very reasonable. A towel warmer will turn your average damp bathroom into a place where you look forward to going when it’s cold outside. Reaching for that towel as you step out of the shower will bring a pleasant grin to your face rather that that look of “this is gonna be cold, let’s get this over with.”

Electric heaters can be a decorative and energy-efficient means to warm you up. When you combine the relative ease of installation and low initial cost they can indeed provide the heat next winter. After all, summer will only last so long.

Home Heating has Been Around the Block

May 07, 2009 00:05 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

Learn All You Need to Know about Home Heating

Trends in home heating have circled the block a time or two. Throughout time, men and women have used their brain power to design new and effective ways of surviving the cold months. At the dawn of time fire became a necessary invention in order to stay warm and cook. Native Americans used fire pits in the center of their teepees. An ingenious built-in chimney shape was inherent in its design. Early settlers heated stones or small irons or pans to keep their beds warm. Home heating has always been at the forefront of man’s design.

Early home heating - TeePees features a built-in chimney. As we have witnessed its evolution it is hard to imagine a dwelling without a source of heat. In today’s fast-paced world we take for granted the home heating systems that are available in the market place now. Most heat can be turned on by the simple push of a button. Advances in smaller wall-mount heaters have made it possible for residents to heat smaller areas or just one room that is occupied most often. Heating specific rooms or small areas of the home rather than the entire house usually saves owners money on energy bills. Electric heaters draw very little power compared to their ancestors so it is both cost-effective and comfortable to use them.

Even in the work place many employees take an office heater to keep them warm in an unregulated and cold building. Small space heaters and heating mats keep productivity high and heating costs low.

As the trends come and go, it is nice to know that home heating is still being revamped, styled, and created to keep us warm and our bills low. The Home Heating Center carries all the latest trends and offers plenty of information so you can learn all you need to know about home heating.

Heating Mats for Pets

April 09, 2009 00:04 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

Don’t Forget Man’s Best Friend During the Cold Months

I live in a place where the snow still flies in April and May (sadly, even a possibility in June). I have a dog who suffers this wretched trick of nature each time we let him out to answer nature’s call. Heating for pets is still a worry for some of us, even in spring. Outdoor heating mats make a great pet heater and keep those little paws, hooves, and bellies toasty.Heating mat for pets

This week in the news I was reminded of winter’s cruelty and the continued need for a heating mat for my pets, when MSNBC reported the story of a man needing to get to a hospital for a life-saving transplant operation. There was a major snag as he and his wife made their way across the Wyoming roads towards the hospital in Denver, CO. A white out blizzard and closed roads were blocking their route. A quick call to 911 and a few more valiant efforts by the Wyoming Department of Transportation elicited a convoy of eight snow plows that showed up to escort them safely to the state border.

This story made me smile to think that there are still nice things being done for people in this world. It was also a reminder that during the first week of April there are still places in this country that are seeing blizzards. Winter is not over yet and our pets still need protection from the cold temperatures. Weatherproof heated mats are easy to use, safe for pets and animals of any size and offer protection for household pets or farm animals that dwell in the great outdoors. Just remember, these mats get very warm, so it's best to place them under existing bedding or mats.

Keep your pets in mind during the cold months and chilled nights of spring and fall by providing outdoor heating mats for them. That way, even a blizzard in April won’t have them calling 911.

Smart Heating for Your Home

April 09, 2009 00:04 AM  BY  BENSON RICKS

Feel the Heat

Do many of us think about other ways of heating our homes than the use of a conventional forced air system? If you have experienced underfloor radiant heat then you obviously have. Home heating choices shouldn’t be so limited. There are many ways of providing heat for your home. When planning that home improvement project don’t neglect the little comforts that are available to us these days. These comforts range from radiant heated floors to many small and portable heating options that provide localized heat to enhance our comfort. Electric heaters come in many forms and you can find one to fit just about any need.

You can even keep your pet warm with the use of weatherproof heating mats. What better way to show your furry “best friend” that you love him by purchasing a comfy, heated mat for his bed? Ah, the life of a dog.

Wall-mount heaters or office heaters can make that dingy office not such a bad place to go. When hanging out in your office or favorite room, the use of a wall-mount heater can increase your efficiency and keep utility costs reasonable by heating just your work area rather than cranking up the main system. Having a localized heat source makes your workspace a more comfy place to be.

Heating is also available for outdoor areas. Patio heaters are becoming increasingly popular, providing heat that allows you to “extend” your outdoor season. Take advantage of the many heating options available and enhance your comfort as well as reduce your power bill.
