Outdoor Heating Mats for Pets

We live in a rural setting where horses in pastures are as common a sight as roofs on homes. Cows chew lazily covered in snow and dogs wander aimlessly year round. When the snow starts to fly and the temperatures dip, I always feel bad for these animals. I know they are growing thick coats and surviving winter as only they can, but at times I wish they could migrate like birds for the winter. This is especially the case for the countless dogs I hear outside at night. Their insistent barking seems to say “help me, let me in.” I wish I could find their owners and give them this great tip about heating mats for pets:Outdoor heating mat for pets. PowerBlanket heating mats are ideal for keeping pets warm in the cold months. If pet owners heeded this tip, we’d have a lot of happy animals at our heels.

PowerBlanket outdoor heating mats are durable enough to be buried beneath doghouses, even if the ground is wet. These heating mats for pets are convenient and affordable to operate. They require a 120V outlet and can even be hooked together for larger areas. Heated Floor Mats Warm From the Bottom Up

September 23, 2009 00:09 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

Want Warm Feet? Use Heated Floor Mats

If my feet get cold, I’m cold for the rest of the day. Before I had smaller feet running around my home with me, I often used a small electric heater to knock the cold back. Now that I have to watch out for grabby hands, but still suffer from chronic blue feet in the chilly months of winter, I needed something safe and effective to warm me up. Heated floor mats were the answer for me.

During extra cold days a heated mat acts as a fast foot warmer for my ten toes. There are many electric heaters on the market available for home and office use, but in the past they have been bulky and dangerous. Electric heaters often cause fire hazards and pose a significant risk to homes with small children and pets. Using heated mats in place of electric heaters as foot warmers is a safe alternative to the aforementioned hazards.

Heated floor mat.Generating a little extra heat using a heated floor mat will also speed up the time it takes your feet to normally warm back up. This is a perk I love because no amount of thick socks, fluffy slippers or good old fashioned friction and rubbing are going to make my feet warm as fast as placing them on a toasty heated mat. If my feet get cold, the rest of my body gets cold and I suffer a great deal. Lucky for me heated floor mats don’t take much time to heat and take even less time to warm up my extremities. If you work outside all day I would imagine a heated floor mat would be a welcome treat when you get home after a long day of standing on cold feet as well.

Wall-Mount Heaters Provide a Unique Aid to Home Heating

Home heating can be tricky. Especially if you have different methods to heat your home. Some older homes have wood burning stoves mixed with some modern electric heaters. Some homes have furnaces meant to heat the entire home but often leave the basement and smaller rooms like bathrooms less than toasty. Some homes have fireplaces that heat one area of the home really well, while leaving rooms further from the heat source neglected and chilly. Each of these situations would benefit from alternative home heat sources.

The wall-mounted ECO-heater.Wall-mount heaters are a logical and affordable choice for heating parts of your home that don’t get reached by traditional home heating. Wall-mount heaters also make an easy home improvement project with a sweet payoff. A cold basement or chilly bathroom can be easily heated with a stylish and simple wall-mount heater. An electric heater is capable of generating intense and localized heat in a small specific area. This makes compact wall-mount electric heaters ideal for those hard to heat areas in the home that most people just end up avoiding because they can see their breath. No thanks! No one wants to be cold in their own space.

Summer Outside but Winter in My Office

July 05, 2009 00:07 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

A Tale of Two Temperatures – Office Heaters to the Rescue

It happens every year. The seasons change, the hemlines get shorter, the sassy summer sandals are brought out from the back of the closet and the temperature in my office turns to uninhabitable frosty conditions. Sure, it’s hot outside, no one is denying that. But is it honestly necessary to freeze out the delicate flower in marketing or watch the receptionist turn a Smurf-ette shade of blue? What about the frail accountant sitting in the corner office? With gale force winds being blown down his neck he feebly types with stiffened fingers as the air conditioner pumps out heaps and piles of arctic wind. Oh the sad plight of the office worker bee. We sit in the hive wondering how we are supposed to be productive when our sad wings are frozen. Yes, it’s true, this all sounds a bit dramatic, but my memory of the tale of two temperatures and the blanket cold that descended each summer in my own office sits firmly in my memory. If not for my beloved office heater I would be a frozen memory, a business casual Popsicle entombed in the ever frigid winds of my cubicle.

Office panel heater. I’m thinking how true blue I would have been to my boss if he had offered to give me full control of the thermostat for one day. I would regulate my office so the tips of my toes would still have feeling at the end of a work day. Alas, that offer never came my way, nor to any of my office mates. The smart ones gravitated toward survival, as I did and purchased small office heaters to make our days more bearable. An electric panel heater is a reasonable solution to our tale of woe. A Home Heat Center electric panel heater is designed to heat small spaces, take up minimal floor space and maintain safety all at the same time. So although there are two extreme temperatures, hot outside, cold inside, we can still maintain productivity and warmth when we need it. Cubicle dwellers everywhere rejoice!

Outdoor Heating Safety Tips

June 27, 2009 00:06 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

Safety First Means a Summer Filled With Peace of Mind and Outdoor Heating

Grill masters around the country are dusting off their aprons, shaking bottles of barbeque sauce, and heading back outside to visit the great outdoors. Neighbors are throwing block parties once more and the kids are riding bikes until the sun goes down. It’s summer! Summer nights can still have a nip in the air, but many people enjoy the many benefits of outdoor heating. Patio heaters, outdoor heaters, and fire pits are all great sources of warmth for those nights you want to star gaze with friends and loved ones. As with anything generating heat there is an inherent danger in their use, so heed a few outdoor heating safety tips for the ultimate peace of mind and fun in the summer nights.

  • Place patio heaters and fire pits a safe distance from low-lying tree branches, sheds, fences, wood decks, and other flammable materials.

  • When using a patio heater be sure to tuck the power cord safely out of reach of small children and low to the ground to avoid a tripping hazard.

  • Only use types of outdoor heating for their intended purposes and never use for indoor applications.

  • Forego use of outdoor heating products when weather calls for high winds that could lead to an untimely spread of fire.

  • Never leave your patio heater or fire pit unattended.

Following these simple and straightforward safety tips will ensure you have a long and lasting summer season. Most of it spent in the great outdoors, breathing in that fresh sun kissed air. Happy summer to you all!

Home Heating has Been Around the Block

May 07, 2009 00:05 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

Learn All You Need to Know about Home Heating

Trends in home heating have circled the block a time or two. Throughout time, men and women have used their brain power to design new and effective ways of surviving the cold months. At the dawn of time fire became a necessary invention in order to stay warm and cook. Native Americans used fire pits in the center of their teepees. An ingenious built-in chimney shape was inherent in its design. Early settlers heated stones or small irons or pans to keep their beds warm. Home heating has always been at the forefront of man’s design.

Early home heating - TeePees features a built-in chimney. As we have witnessed its evolution it is hard to imagine a dwelling without a source of heat. In today’s fast-paced world we take for granted the home heating systems that are available in the market place now. Most heat can be turned on by the simple push of a button. Advances in smaller wall-mount heaters have made it possible for residents to heat smaller areas or just one room that is occupied most often. Heating specific rooms or small areas of the home rather than the entire house usually saves owners money on energy bills. Electric heaters draw very little power compared to their ancestors so it is both cost-effective and comfortable to use them.

Even in the work place many employees take an office heater to keep them warm in an unregulated and cold building. Small space heaters and heating mats keep productivity high and heating costs low.

As the trends come and go, it is nice to know that home heating is still being revamped, styled, and created to keep us warm and our bills low. The Home Heating Center carries all the latest trends and offers plenty of information so you can learn all you need to know about home heating.

Heating Mats for Pets

April 09, 2009 00:04 AM  BY  JEN HALLAM

Don’t Forget Man’s Best Friend During the Cold Months

I live in a place where the snow still flies in April and May (sadly, even a possibility in June). I have a dog who suffers this wretched trick of nature each time we let him out to answer nature’s call. Heating for pets is still a worry for some of us, even in spring. Outdoor heating mats make a great pet heater and keep those little paws, hooves, and bellies toasty.Heating mat for pets

This week in the news I was reminded of winter’s cruelty and the continued need for a heating mat for my pets, when MSNBC reported the story of a man needing to get to a hospital for a life-saving transplant operation. There was a major snag as he and his wife made their way across the Wyoming roads towards the hospital in Denver, CO. A white out blizzard and closed roads were blocking their route. A quick call to 911 and a few more valiant efforts by the Wyoming Department of Transportation elicited a convoy of eight snow plows that showed up to escort them safely to the state border.

This story made me smile to think that there are still nice things being done for people in this world. It was also a reminder that during the first week of April there are still places in this country that are seeing blizzards. Winter is not over yet and our pets still need protection from the cold temperatures. Weatherproof heated mats are easy to use, safe for pets and animals of any size and offer protection for household pets or farm animals that dwell in the great outdoors. Just remember, these mats get very warm, so it's best to place them under existing bedding or mats.

Keep your pets in mind during the cold months and chilled nights of spring and fall by providing outdoor heating mats for them. That way, even a blizzard in April won’t have them calling 911.

People across the globe living in coat and scarf weather will probably tell you that heat is one of the top priorities in their homes.
