Winterize Your Vehicle

Prepare your car for winter conditions

Less than 30 percent of all car owners adequately prepare their car for winter. Prevent problems by winterizing your car before the cold weather hits.

Have your battery tested, including the condition of the terminal connections and cables. (Many mechanics offer battery testing as a free service.)

Make sure your tires and wipers are in good condition for winter weather.

Check and replace your coolant if necessary. (Two years or 30,000 miles is the suggested lifetime for antifreeze.)

Maintain the other fluids in your car. This includes windshield cleaning fluid, oil, brake and transmission fluid, etc.

Keep proper safety equipment in your car at all times. This includes:

  • Jumper cables
  • Ice scraper
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Flares
  • Towing cable/rope
  • Gloves, coat, hat, socks, blanket
  • First aid kit

Engine Warmers and Winter Auto Care

Weatherproof Engine Warmers for Your Vehicle or Equipment

Use an engine warmer to prevent engine problems this winter
Prevent car problems this winter by using PowerBlanket engine and battery warmers.

Winter conditions have a habit of interfering with equipment and transportation, causing delays in construction projects and arrivals to work. Cars older than 2000 are especially susceptible to the effects of cold temperatures; most often caused by freezing engine coolant. When the weatherman predicts an especially cold night, it’s a good idea to have an engine warmer on hand for emergencies and prevent delays.

Suited for Any Kind of Vehicle

The PowerBlanket engine warmers and battery warmers are suited for use with any kind of vehicle, and work well for other types of equipment, such as tractors. No professional installation or knowledge of engines in needed to use the engine or battery warmer. Simply place the durable PowerBlanket directly on top of the engine and power by plugging it into a standard 120 V outlet. Safe to leave plugged in overnight without supervision.

Increases Car Performance

Home Heat Center supports green energy. PowerBlanket engine and battery warmers provide quick heat that warms the entire engine, creating optimal conditions for proper engine function. Engine warmers aid the engine’s initial vaporization of fuel, which in turn reduces the emission output and increases car/equipment performance. Once a car is stalled from cold weather, it is difficult to warm the engine using outside means. A PowerBlanket engine warmer is the best solution for preventing those unexpected problems before they become an emergency.
